#07 IELTS Writing Task 2 "Imagine there is a plan to build a new restaurant"

Imagine there is a plan to build a new restaurant / factory / shopping center/ school / theater / etc, in your community. Would you favour this plan or oppose it?


Frankly speaking, I would absolutely support that plan to establish a school in my neighbourhood. A well-standard school is a great treasure and an asset to a community and locality. So the value and importance of a school in my village are significant. Is its quality and service is high, then a school will have a great local attention than any museum or a park. A good school may also coin up and illuminate the reputation of our town and community.
Other reason for supporting a school includes the beneficial influence regarding monetary prestige and economical advantages over the society. For instance, a number of unemployed skilled graduates will have an opportunity to lay hand on a job at a distance of a stone throw. Furthermore, when a multinational standard school establishes and is successful, it will save the money of parents as they send their children to the city and pay high wages to transporters for picking and drooping. That school will also catch the neighbouring area's students and help the country literacy rate as a whole. Thus, In this lightning-fast modern age, there is sheer need of a well equipped and organised school.
No doubt, at the other hand some conservative individuals may offer some poorly good reasons to oppose the construction of the school in the interest of preserving the locality as a desirable place to live. Obviously, the construction of a school may cause overcrowding, pollution and ruin the natural look of the community but it may be managed and controlled. However, it will also add to the popularity and identity of the locality. So, overall, the advantages and merits are far more in magnitude than demerits.
To sum up, we have to look forward to the bright future. Designed, built and operate in the right way, a good school will contribute much to a community and it should be supported.

Note; I am a villager so the school is very rare here. You can replace it.
