What are Emojis

What are Emojis

Emojis are the visual representation of an emotion, object or symbol. Emoji are in modern communication apps such as smartphone, text messaging apps and social networks like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. Emoji are trendy since they first appeared on Japanese phones in the late ’90s, and in the past few years it has become a trademark of the way people communicate each other. They show up in press-releases and officials statements. An economic report that is released by White House illustrated with emoji. In 2015, it became the word of the year in Oxford dictionaries.
Emojis are not for the people of any specific country but for everyone.  Today there are a wide range of emojis seducing people in all aspect of life, and thousands other things we interact with in our world like money, prayer, Apple Watches and pcs. In the future, as the world have become progressively digital and verbalized, emoji will be a crucial tools for communication.

History of Emoji;

In the beginning, there were emotions like :) and :( and 8-D of chat room conversations in the 1990s). These historic symbols depicts a crucial way of conversation until early 1990. For example, if you want a face emoji you have make a small bracket and between these, you post a semi-circle then two commas inside that bracket.
The very-first emoji was made-up in 1999 in by Shigetaka Kurita in Japan. He introduce the first 180 emoji based on the expressions that he observed from people and other things in his city. Now, the advancements in emoji are happening day-by-day as many of us have knowledge about how to advance any emoji and cheat a unique.

Emoji in Social Media and Industries;

Social media is a fast track and charismatic place where rules change by every minute. The better you are take up the foot-print of its enjoyers, and hold on with trends, the better your outcomes will be. Undoubtedly, one component of social media business that people frequently tend to underrate is the usage of emoji.
Emojis, as symbolic as they may look. They serve as a language of its own. In the near future, people will use emojis to reach out with their spectators in optical manner.

  • To be more successful;

As the famous proverb, “Less is more”, and this works handsomely to the way of Emoji work. As I explained above, these images have the power to communicate a lot with little, and it is why it is being recommended by all the Social Media Strategies. Now, any of us can make emoji and sell to world-class companies in high prices.
For Instance, a US company, The Domino Pizza decided to take advantages of this immediate information and use emoji to send pizza orders through the internet to the next level. They invited their clientele to order a pizza online by using emoji of a pizza slice. As a result, the company received many times more orders than regular orders, by using the phrase “Easy Order”. Mr. Denis Maloney, an employee of digital marketing at Domino Pizza confirmed that what they are doing is nor inky a marketing campaign, but also a new ordering platform.
According to a report published by the Emoji Research Team, 92% of people use emoji and more than 30% use emojis several times a day. And emoji-based-marketing campaigns have expended by 777% year-over-year, as reported by Appboy research.
Many forward-thinking companies are using emojis to connect with their audience and practice some creative brand building.
The results are worth noting:
1.    Using emoji on Twitter result in 26% more engagements.
2.    Using emoji on Facebook results in 57% more likes, 33% more comments and shares.
3.    Nearly 50% of captions and comments contain emojis on Instagram.
Hence, it has proven that using emojis is the prominent way to get popularity and make audience.

  • To provide information;

The fact that emojis are easily identifiable images contributes greatly to the fixation of a sense and to the transmission of an emotion associated with this information. That's why if you want to transmit a mood related to your brand, using emojis in your posts is the most recommended thing. For example, The Chevrolet Car Company made the decision to challenge the public to a challenge in Social Networks, as part of its campaign to launch the Chevy Cruze 2016 model. For this, it made public a brief of the new model "written" exclusively with emojis, after which invited the audience to decipher the meaning of the message.
The strategy obtained excellent results: 18 times more engagement on Twitter, 166 thousand views on YouTube, 2.7 million views on paid ads on Social Networks and a lot of media coverage, according to the report of the specialized site searchenginewatch.com.

  • To tell stories and make people happy;

Emojis are capable of amplifying all types of emotions transmitted in a message. Now, in terms of digital marketing what is needed is for people to associate positive emotions with business or proposal.  As you probably noticed that the children are not the only ones who enjoy a good story with pictures. In fact, the expressive power of happy emojis is such, that their presence can multiply the impact of your message enormously.
I want to give you an example here. When the Star Wars launched in 2015, Disney decided to appeal emojis of twitter in order to promote the character of Saga and incorporate them in people’s conversation. That way, users could write hashtags on their tweets, which were automatically shown as emojis. As a conclusion, this campaign received the highest global engagements and meanwhile, the audience had fun telling stories and making comments about their favorite characters.

Types of emojis;

Emojis are being used through different sources, but the main streams of using emojis are IPhone and Android Phones.
The IPhone and Android Phones, nevertheless, have quite same type of emojis but in some android devices, emoji does not appear, instead a square box appears. In some cases, IPhone emojis do not appear on android phones. This is the main problems of emoji’s department and it seems that, in the next couple of years, this issue will be resolved.
The test-type emojis were also a good mean of communication and to share feeling in the past. Gone are the days when people used keyboard-phones and they took advantages of text emojis ;) etc. In this lightning fast age, the maximum of the people use digital emojis but in remote areas like Afghanistan and Gambia etc., the majority of the population used to text emojis and some of them may even aware of digital emojis.
To sum-up, I should mention that to achieve happiness and make yourself easy, there is nothing better than to use happy emojis at all!
