In the past, many people had skills such as making their own clothes and making repairs to things in the house. In many countries, nowadays, skills like these are disappearing.
Why do you think this change is happening?
How far this situation is true in your country?

 Gone are the days when people preferred to do handicraft works and repairing the things in their homes as compare to nowadays. There are a number of factors involved in this case like large number of other activities, contradict jobs and the modern life style.
In the past, the societies were not technologically advance. No machinery were available for making the clothes and other repairing items. So the people had a plenty of spare time for manufacturing these gadgets as they known that no any machinery will be provided. That days, people finished their work earlier, but in this era, the work consist of 8 to 10 hours a day and very stressful as well, so people prefer to get sleep after that long-span, exhaust working day.



Another key element that which is pushing to this situation is that the people do not sit in their parents and elders as they have a large quantity of distractions and useless hobbies like playing video games and using mobile phones instead of spending their free time with elders.
This situation is happening in the entire world, In Pakistan, this situation is familiar most with metropolitan cities but not in countrysides. Villagers are somehow, have knowledge of handicraft work and this is also a source of income for them.
To conclude, enrichment of technology, grueling jobs and rubbish hobbies are the main factors which stop people to going back to their history and traditions. If they start to sit in their elders, they can really learn such useful skills from them.
